The Mess Going on at Digg

If you haven't heard about it, here is the skinny. After the government passed a bill that would increase the royalties for music downloads, which is threatening to put Internet radio stations out of business, some wise guys found a code that could bypass paying for music and the code started appearing on Digg stories. Digg immediately began deleting the stories with the code.

However, they caught so much flack about it that here, in their official statement, they have said that even if it puts them out of business, they will no longer delete stories that appear with the code.

I don't know about you, but if Digg were mine, I be damned if I'd let people push me around like that. You have got to do what you think is right, and if they felt having that code displayed on their site was wrong, they shouldn't have succumbed to the pressure.
